The domes are located on the mountain ledge “Hidleren”, surrounded by spectacular mountains ranging up to 700 meters above sea level.
You will have an unbelievable view of Åkrafjord (pronounced “Oh-kra-fjord”), where you can watch the sun set behind the mountains and – if you are very lucky – catch a view of dolphins or orca.
Here you can find peace and quiet and enjoy your natural surroundings. There is a rich birdlife in Åkrafjord, with many species – perhaps you may even spot an eagle.
In the dome you will find Yahtzee, a deck of cards and other games, but there are also good possibilities for venturing out into the wild natural surroundings.
You can walk the Via Ferrata (a protected climbing route), climbing inside gorges, and mountain walking just to mention a few options.

Our domes are each equipped with a toilet, about 10 meters from the dome. There is also an outdoor shower with natural cold water.
Here you stand under a 120-year-old oak tree, and the view from there over the fjord is perfect. We dare suggest that we have one of Norway’s finest showers!
Åkrafjord Glamping is perfect for when you want quality time with your loved ones, whether it is your partner, a friend, or your closest family. Here you can relax completely, or take part in a wide range of activities in the area.
There are activities both for summer and winter. You can find out more about them under “Activities”.

BJØDNASETE
“Bjødnasete” was named after a rock formation in the mountains, near the dome. It is, as Norwegians may understand from the name, shaped like the buttocks of a bear with two paws on its sides.
There is a fable which says that the bear sat and looked out over the fjord and watched for the salmon on their way to spawn in the Fjæra River.

PADL
“Padl” gets its name from the mountain outcrop located right next to the dome. There were several places that had the same name, “Padl”, and all were similar small mountain outcrops. It’s a little uncertain where the name itself comes from.
