Experience our spectacular domes, located in a wild, beautiful and untouched Norwegian fjord.
Stay in one of our domes, where you can live comfortably, yet wake up to birdsong and bathe outside. You can book with or without meals. This is not only an overnight stay, but also an experience.
“Glamping” is short for “glamorous camping”. That is, a luxurious variant of sleeping in a tent, or a kind of tent/cabin hybrid if you like.
In our domes, the plastic ground sheet is replaced by a carpeted floor, rolled-up camping mattresses by a good quality bed, and sleeping bags with a lovely, fluffy duvet.
With us, you have a fireplace, electric lighting and power, and if desired, you will be served tasty tapas with locally produced ingredients and cider from Hardanger.

Mighty mountains range more than 700 meters up behind the domes, while from the front you have a full view over the beautiful Åkrafjord.

The domes are located on the mountain ledge “Hidleren”, surrounded by spectacular mountains ranging up to 700 meters above sea level.
You will have an unbelievable view of Åkrafjord (pronounced “Oh-kra-fjord”), where you can watch the sun set behind the mountains and – if you are very lucky – catch a view of dolphins or orca.
Here you can find peace and quiet and enjoy your natural surroundings. There is a rich birdlife in Åkrafjord, with many species – perhaps you may even spot an eagle.
In the dome you will find Yahtzee, a deck of cards and other games, but there are also good possibilities for venturing out into the wild natural surroundings. You can walk the Via Ferrata (a protected climbing route), climbing inside gorges, and mountain walking just to mention a few options.

Padl
“Padl” gets its name from the mountain outcrop located right next to the dome.
There were several places that had the same name, “Padl”, and all were similar small mountain outcrops. It’s a little uncertain where the name itself comes from.
Bjødnasete
“Bjødnasete”
“Bjødnasete” was named after a rock formation in the mountains, near the dome. It is, as Norwegians may understand from the name, shaped like the buttocks of a bear with two paws on its sides.
There is a fable which says that the bear sat and looked out over the fjord and watched for the salmon on their way to spawn in the Fjæra River.

You can have delicious food delivered to the dome, where most of your selection is local produce. We cooperate with partners such as Alde Sideri from Hardanger, Åkrafjordtunet, and Lundal from Åkrafjorden.
